CMW Media, the leading PR agency for the emerging natural products industries, has expanded its public relations team with the addition of three new team members. The agency has hired Mary Borstelman and Nathaniel Geoghegan as Account Coordinators. Additionally, Tory Patterson has been brought on as an Account Director.

Tory Patterson brings nearly a decade of experience at notable global PR agencies to the team. She developed, managed and executed strategic PR and content campaigns for premier companies such as SunEdison, Edmunds.com, thinkThin, Nutiva, and Thermo Fisher just to name a few. Tory’s expertise includes strategic media relations, targeting journalists with customized approaches and “consumerizing” brand message while maintaining relevance in today’s evolving media landscape. These skills have led her to secure relationships worth top-tier media including Forbes, Fast Company, CBNC, Bloomberg, TIME and more. At CMW, Tory will help oversee agency operations, support new business development and work on a variety of the company’s premier pharmaceutical, cannabis and biotech clients.
Originally from Los Angeles, Mary Borstelmann is a recent graduate of San Diego State University with a degree in Journalism and emphasis in Public Relations. With a recent certification in the Principles of Public Relation, Mary joins the CMW team with background in both in-house and agency PR. Previously, Mary held an internship at an agency working with a diverse group of clients including Islands Restaurants, Westin and Sheraton Carlsbad Hotels, the San Diego Museum of Art and others. She also held an internship with the United Nations Association of San Diego, where she managed the organization’s social media accounts.
San Diego native Nathaniel Geoghegan is also a recent graduate from San Diego State University, holding a B.A. in English. Past internships have taught him valuable Public Relations skills, including content development, social media management, market research and strategic writing. In his time at SDSU, Nathaniel was one of few selected as an International Blogger for the university’s homepage while studying abroad in Scotland. He will support the CMW PR team on accounts such as Medical Marijuana, Inc, Progressive Care and GrowLife, among others.
